Sania Maskatiya, who very recently concluded the first year if her fashion house, follows up her delicious Dilkash collection with the Matyala collection, which is a nod the the mithila art practiced in north Bihar, Indian and southeast of Nepal and Pakistan. The Mithila art, be it on the floor or wall, as it traditionally is, is a ritual associated with women, and what better way to bring the narrative of everyday creativity then on to clothes! Sania Maskatiya uses the Mithila art as the base for her creations, and weaves a web of her own beautiful designs around it. The cuts are signature Sania, easy and fluid, and the fabric flows around her lines gracefully. The Matyala collection employees a palette of ochers and warm against a cool white background, perfect for the summer, and beyond.
